If you are traveling through the Loire Valley by public transport, the Tours city will be the best choice for accommodation. It is a very pretty city in itself. There are enough hotels in it. Tours is also located in the very center of a large group of castles.
Brittany. 2. Dinan, Cote d’Armor
This post is about Dinan sights and a little bit about Cote d’Armor. Dinan is really worth seeing: old houses, flowers, a scenic descent to the lower town, no crowds of tourists… Many details just ask for the camera.
Brittany. 1. Ille et Villaine. Saint Malo
Brittany (Bretagne) on the maps seemed somehow quite easily “explorable”, especially since the first time we decided to take a car, remembering from previous trips that traveling in France without a car creates some, in some places significant, problems. In reality, the region turned out to be huge and interesting. However, the vast distances make it impossible to explore Brittany in any detail in a week.
You have to choose what is characteristic of Brittany and drive a lot, or explore one small piece, hoping to see other parts next time.
Lido di Jesolo beach, map and what to do
The Venetian lagoon is the closest Adriatic resort region from Germany. We chose Lido di Jesolo. The coastline here is continuous lined with hotels and campings, from Punta Sabbione (the end point of the peninsula from where vaporettos leave for Venice) to Eraclea.
Cividale old town and Lombard temple
The small town of Cividale del Friuli is located east of the relatively large city of Udine, almost at the very border with Slovenia. Our favorite size – the effortless half-day hike. Time in the Cividale old town stopped somewhere in the Middle Ages, and once it was large and significant, the capital of the duchy, a fortified city founded by Julius Caesar himself (Forum Julius = Friuli) on the site of a Celtic settlement.
Mont Saint Michel Abbey
According to legend, the St. Archangel Michael appeared to bishop Ober in a dream and ordered to build a church here. And that was done: in the 8th century a chapel appeared on the rock. However, the Archangel Michael is unlikely to have anything to do with the transformation of the chapel into a fortress, which we see today. The place was strategically and economically profitable, and the abbots were smart enough to use it. But the main merit, of course, belongs to those architects from the 11-16 centuries who managed to unit the man-made and nature so poetically.
Writers and not only they admired Mont-Saint-Michel, called it the eighth wonder of the world. At number one, it entered the UNESCO list.
Torre Pedrera Rimini
In general, Rimini is not as nightmare as it is sometimes written, but also not ideal for beach holiday. For a quiet lying on the beach in the form of a vegetable, it is better to choose another city. But for those who want to combine excursions, entertainment and swimming, this is a good, convenient place. If we say about Rimini, one should also not forget about the safety rules – this is not the quietest and safest place in Italy, you should not be too relax.
This part is about everything except the sights: roads, transport, the Torre Pedrera map, beaches, including a great wild beach towards Ravenna.
Cividale bridge, Duomo place and palio
So, in the first part, we stopped in a wonderful small chapel of the Langobards. Now we go to famous Cividale bridge and to the center – it’s time for shooting competition.
The central square is fenced off with stands with seating and metal fences. Good seats in the stands or good standing positions should be taken half an hour before the start.
Ludwigsburg palace and gardens
Ludwigsburg palace and gardens are not so well known. However, apart from Wilhelma, this is the most interesting place in the region. It is a must-see if you are staying in Stuttgart. In this post we see Ludwigsburg palace, gardens around, Favorit park up to Monrepos palace. I tell also about Ludwigsburg pumpkin festival.
Be sure to check if there are any extra activities. The city hosts a street music festival, while the park hosts musical fireworks and a great pumpkin festival.
Around Venice and Lido di Jesolo. Map of attractions
The first part is about Lido di Jesolo as a resort. Now let’s see where we can go to around Venice and Lido die Jesolo, if for us just lying on the beach is not enough. Lido di Jesolo is a very convenient place in this regard – there are quite a lot of interesting places around Venice within an hour or an hour and a half by car. Also bus or train (from Lido di Jesolo, however, there must be a bus first) are possible.
