Pottenstein cave / Teufelshöhle Pottenstein

Pottenstein cave is located in Franconian Switzerland. This is the region south of Bayreuth, towards Nuremberg There, limestone dominates with all the consequences, including whitened shoes and a floor in a car and chalk stripes on clothes. Rocks of the most bizarre shapes suddenly grow here and there. Limestone also means karst and stalactite caves. There are already three of them opened for public.

German vineyards in Autumn in Swabian Tuscany

Weinberge im Herbst Eberstadt

Swabian Tuscany, this region was nicknamed for tourist purposes because of the warmer climate (here comes the air from the Rhine) and vineyards. Wine, perhaps, is not so good as along the Rhine, but in the end of October this section of the Castle Road becomes an independent destination.

In a not too rainy and cold autumn, all vineyards become bright, but not all are truly picturesque. For this you need a suitable relief – the most rugged hills possible.

Technik museum Sinsheim. IMAX cinema

Technikmuseum Sinsheim

There are two large technik museums in the region: Technik museum Sinsheim (Link) and Technik museum Speyer. They have different content, but if there is a lack of time, it is quite possible to choose one.

We like museum in Speyer better: that set of exhibits is more interesting to us. But this does not mean that there is nothing to watch in Sinsheim.

Rothenburg what to see

Rothenburg old town / Rothenburg Altstadt

Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a city with a medieval look, which is located on several tourist routes at once: Romantic Road, Castle Road and Favorite Valley of the Tauber River.

Old streets that seem to have survived from ancient times, half-timbered houses, fortress walls, the picturesque nature of the Tauber River valley (although the river is too loud a word for this stream) … A significant part of this medieval appearance has been restored from ruins after the bombing, according to old drawings and photographs. But walking here, you completely forget about it.
