Bibione resort. 1. Beach, how to get, public transport

Bibione resort is especially popular with the residents of Germany – it is inexpensive and easier to get to than to other resorts. After all, a nightmare road through Innsbruck, Fernpass and the Brenner Autobahn can enter the book of records for the number of time wasted in traffic jams and the number of irreversibly lost nerve cells. But the road through the A10 is still not so busy.

Bibione. 2. Accomodation, shops, entertainment

Usually they rent in Italy weekly – from Saturday to Saturday. But Friday also sometimes possible, so by searching, I advise you to look also at the Friday-Friday option. This day is clearly more convenient.

Apartments and villas in Bibione are managed by a dozen agencies. Most of the agencies are located on the main street (number 2 on the plan). You have to check-in and take the keys there. There is a parking, but it was clearly designed for fewer cars. On Saturday it is really difficult to take the keys.

In the first part, read about roads and public transport, beaches and plus and minus of this resort in general. In the next part – about excursions outside the resort.

Lido di Jesolo beach, map and what to do

The Venetian lagoon is the closest Adriatic resort region from Germany. The lagoon is very large, but there are beaches only in those cities that overlook the sea. In the lagoon the shores are overgrown with reeds. Herons and fishermen fish there.

By the sea, the closest beach to Venice is Venice Lido (Lido di Venezia) – a large island that closes Venice from the sea. But you have to get there by ferry. It is not very pleasant to depend on the ferry.

Therefore, we chose Lido di Jesolo. The coastline here is continuous lined with hotels and campings, from Punta Sabbione (the end point of the peninsula from where vaporettos leave for Venice) to Eraclea.

Torre Pedrera Rimini

In general, Rimini is not as nightmare as it is sometimes written, but also not ideal for beach holiday. For a quiet lying on the beach in the form of a vegetable, it is better to choose another city. But for those who want to combine excursions, entertainment and swimming, this is a good, convenient place. If we say about Rimini, one should also not forget about the safety rules – this is not the quietest and safest place in Italy, you should not be too relax.

This part is about everything except the sights: roads, transport, the Torre Pedrera map, beaches, including a great wild beach towards Ravenna.

Around Venice and Lido di Jesolo. Map of attractions

The first part is about Lido di Jesolo as a resort. Now let’s see where we can go to around Venice and Lido die Jesolo, if for us just lying on the beach is not enough.

Lido di Jesolo is a very convenient place in this regard – there are quite a lot of interesting places around Venice within an hour or an hour and a half by car. Also bus or train (from Lido di Jesolo, however, there must be a bus first) are possible.

Around Venice. Villa Pisani and other Brenta Villas

Some villas with the Villa Pisani are located around Padua, and the picturesque Euganean Hills stretch to the south. From Padua, you can easily get by train to the walled cities: Montagnana, Cittadella, Castelfranco; to Vicenza, Bassano del Grappa, Treviso, not to mention Venice.

But here we will only talk about the immediate vicinity – more about Villa Pisani and short about other villas.

Friuli Venezia Giulia region. What to see map

Friuli Venezia Giulia region map is useful for those who rest in Bibione, Grado and Trieste (or of course in other cities of the region).

Bibione is a kind of a resort for those who prefer not to get off the beach. The sights are quite far away, only exit to the highway costs up to half an hour’s drive. This is especially difficult on a hot day. Nevertheless, there are plenty of attractions for a couple of weeks of holiday.

There are public transport option from Bibione here.

Brisighella

Brisighella Sehenswürdigkeiten Esel Allee

Brisighella is considered one of the most beautiful small towns. The town is good, but it’s too small, literally two and a half streets.

I put it on the road from Garda to Rimini: the city is not suitable as an independent travel destination, only “on the road” and with something else or hiking in the hills.

The map of “something else” you can find here (around Rimini) and here (around Ravenna).

What to see in Gradara

Gradara is a hilltop castle with a small town within the fortress walls. It attracts not only with its medieval walls, but also with the romantic story of Francesca and Paolo that could have happened here (there are other competitors who claim to be the scene). Thanks to the authors – there is a tragic love story for every Italian city.

In short, it was like this. She was married for dynastic reasons and did not like her husband. But she liked his brother, who had the same literary taste. Finding a couple at the crime scene (obviously, reading literary masterpieces together), the husband stabbed both of them. This simple story received an advertisement from Dante – for him it was quite hot gossip, a hundred years had not passed. And therefore it was repeatedly mentioned in works of art.
