Swabian Tuscany, this region was nicknamed for tourist purposes because of the warmer climate (here comes the air from the Rhine) and vineyards. Wine, perhaps, is not so good as along the Rhine, but in the end of October this section of the Castle Road becomes an independent destination.
In a not too rainy and cold autumn, all vineyards become bright, but not all are truly picturesque. For this you need a suitable relief – the most rugged hills possible.

Everywhere you can walk and ride a bike, with extremely rare exceptions on separate bike paths.
Please note that such pictures you will not receive by cold and rainy October – the leaves will quickly go from green to brownish-brown. This happens about once every four years.
1. Heilbronn
Picturesqueness begins with Heilbronn. It is a rather large city, which spoils the views. There are a number of wineries in the city, all scattered around the outskirts. On the way to Erlenbach there is a large pavilion of the “United Winemakers” (Genossenschaftskellerei).
2. Neckarsulm
We will move to Neckarsulm. There is a large mountain from the Aquatol thermal pool. Here the vineyards seem endless.
A second ago, a roe deer stood between the rows, but did not wait for the camera. When people pass by, the roe deer pretend that they are supports for the grapes and stand motionless. And only when you pay attention to them, they jump off the spot.
The inventor of popular new vine sorts, Dornfelder and Kerner, came from one of these villages. There is a memorial point on the Neckarsulm vineyard
3. Erlenbach is less impressive as other places because it stretches along the Autobahn. But here the whole “Tuscany” valley at a glance.
4. Eberstadt
And now as the cherry on the cake is an unknown, but extremely picturesque place Eberstadt – “boar town”. For many years I drove past it on the Autobahn in the fall with the thought “it is crazy, you must definitely get here.” The trick is that all autobahn exits are not nearby, you have to move here purposefully.
In the sun, the colors are almost unrealistically vivid.
At last, Löwenstein (5). Not so magnificent, but below is the only lake-reservoir in the region.
