In Innsbruck, the city itself is a half-day walk at most. More depends on interests: a couple hours for the zoo and time to visit museums. The mandatory program should include the castle of Ambras and one of the cable cars (one day together).
But Innsbruck is suitable as a base for trips, and you can come up with a lot of excursions here.

numerous and large playgrounds
Children’s thematic routes and high-mountain long-distance routes.

At the end of the side valley Schegeis (Link), from Mayrhofen, – a dam and a picturesque reservoir, a suspension bridge overlooking it (Link) and Flying Fox at the dam.

Another side valley leads to the Stillupp reservoir and waterfall. And one more side valley – to the reservoir-source of the Ziller River. Travel through the side valleys is paid.

The side valley leading to the Gerlos pass (toll) and the Krimml waterfalls is more suitable for mountain holidays than for families – it is higher, narrower and more wooded, and there is less entertainment.
