1. Bad Tölz

Old city. Mount Blomberg with chairlift, summer toboggan run and all-season new coaster. (link)

2. Tegernsee, Schliersee

Quiet areas for recreation: small lakes, a couple of cable cars (the main Wallbergbahn link), mountain hiking.

Bad Aibling – resort town with a thermal pool.

4. Wendelstein – Bayrischzell, Brannenburg

Rocky Mount Wendelstein is accessible from two sides: the cable car from Bayrischzell and the cogwheel railway from Brannenburg. (www.wendelsteinbahn.de).

6. Chiemsee – Prien am Chiemsee, Bad Endorf

1Prien am Chiemsee: two islands on the lake. Ludwig’s Palace 2 on Herren Island. Cable car and castle in Aschau.

(3) – Bad Endorf: a thermal pool in the city and a chain of 18 small glacial lakes Eggstatt-Hemhofer-Seenplatte nearby.

7. Marquartstein

The main attraction is a fairy tale park with a couple of simple carousels, a rodelbahn, playgrounds and, of course, fairy tales pavilions (link).

Additional attraction is the Hochplattenbahn chairlift near the park.

From Prien you can get there by bus 9505, you need to walk another 2.5 km to the park.

8. Ruhpolding

A well-known amusement park with simple attractions for children around 4-13 years old (link).

Additionally, the city offers the Rauschbergbahn cable car.

You can get there by train from Traunstein, from the station by bus B.

9. Berchtesgaden

Berchtesgaden is a region for detailed exploration, preferably with an overnight stay. A picturesque lake, a waterfall, a mountain with a cable car and other attractions

11. Siegsdorf and Bergen

Siegsdorf has a museum – an amusement park dedicated to the Stone Age and mammoths museum-siegsdorf.de, www.steinzeit-siegsdorf.de).

In Bergen – the Hochfelln cable car, which offers a full view of the Chiemsee.

You can get to Bergen by train from Prien directly,
to Siegsdorf – with a change in Traunstein, from Bergen to Siegsdorf – by bus 9508.

12. Traunstein

Old city. Museum of the City and Toys. Breweries.

13. Tittmoning

Old town, riding on flat big boats on the Salzach. A fortress with a history museum and a leatherworking museum.

14. Amerang

Amerang Castle (link), Automobile Museum (link) and Museum of Rural Life (about 20 houses of the 16th-19th centuries, link).

You can get there by bus 9414 from Prien, also in the summer months with the help of the Chiemgauer Lokalbahn from Bad Endorf (sometimes there is also a steam train).

15. Wasserburg am Inn

A picturesque medieval town built in the loop of the Inn River, with the result that the center is 7/8 surrounded by the river.

Wasserburg station is located quite far from the historic center and is connected to it by bus.

You can also take bus 9414 from Prien.
