Map of the Middle Black Forest, from Altensteig to Gengenbach. There are two cards in the topic.
Regions: Ortenau, Renchtal, Nagold (www.renchtal-tourismus.de, http://www.ortenau-tourismus.de)
Everything important that you can see in the region – with notes and links.
- 1 – top
- 2 – very good, although not so well known
- 3 – good for a short vacation or a layover. Several medium-level interesting places
- 4 – local or specific, not for everyone
Marks without brackets – I was there (there are links to the posts). With brackets – I wasn’t there. Of course, the notes are subjective
1. Schwarzwald Hochstrasse (В500)
This is a mountain road from Freudenstadt to Baden-Baden. Website – http://www.schwarzwaldhochstrasse.de.
The most interesting point is Meliskopf with a coaster (year-round toboggan run on a rail), a rope park, an observation deck, skilift (http://www.mehliskopf.de). Near is the lake Schwarzenbach Talsperre.
Second most interesting point is Schliffkopf with Allerheiligen Waterfall and closter ruins and Lothar trail.
Around the route are small picturesque towns with wineries (Kappelrodeck, Sasbachwalden).
In winter, the surroundings of the road are extremely popular with skiers. There is almost always snow here. Mostly cross-country skiing trails are laid (for example, Kniebis even has a ski stadium), but there are also ski lifts.
Lotharpfad was laid on the site of the forest damaged by hurricane Lothar. You can see how nature is restored without human intervention.
A picturesque half-timbered town on a hill. Its main attraction is the view from the opposite hill. Inside, the view is not so impressive.
Half-timbered town, ruins of castle.
Mine Besucherbergwerk Hallwangen. Half-timbered town
Germany’s largest Market Square, Experimenta science museum, historic mine (open on weekends), Panorama Bad thermal pool.
6. Bad Rippoldsau
Small zoo with bears and wolves, Grube Wenzel mine, waterfall.
