We continue the story about the creations of the Wilhemina of Prussia. This time about the Sanspareil rock garden in Wonsees.

The area around the castle Zwernitz served as hunting grounds for the margraves. The name Sanspareil comes from the words of one of the court ladies about the new rock park (Felsengarten) – “This is something incomparable!” The lady spoke in French, and these French words Wilhemina used to rename the place.

The summer residence Eremitage Wilhemina was presented by her husband. There was already a palace and a park in a style reminiscent of the English landscape garden. Wilhemina expanded the palace, added more buildings and turned the park into a mixture of English and Baroque styles.

Looking at the photos in the first part, you may ask – where are these lakes, there is only a meadow and wooded mountains. Nevertheless, three decent-sized lakes are hidden in the forests, and in the neighboring valley towards Reutte there are two more large lakes, on which there are even pleasure boats. And there are many small mountain lakes and reservoirs, some of which are used to provide snow for trails, and in the summer they are very beautiful landscapes.

Mountain lakes were hidden under clouds, but in the forest ones we even managed to swim.

Within 30-90 minutes drive you can find cultural attractions, historical cities, museums, and natural attractions – mountains, lakes. On one side of the Autobahn to Salzburg there is a large network of cycling routes, on the other side of the Autobahn there are mountain hiking trails.

Castle Road. 3. From Sinsheim to Rothenburg ob der Tauber

From this section, the Castle Road leaves the Neckar valley and runs parallel to the A6 autobahn towards Nuremberg. The three main attractions along this stretch are Sinsheim, Schwäbisch Hall and Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Along the way, there are also a few small unknown places worth a visit.
